If you're looking for two marvellous companions, who will make you hug the page with delight, look no further than Bink and Gollie!
The state fair is in town, and for Bink and Gollie - utter opposites and very best friends - three comical adventures await!
This is the second Bink & Gollie book , written by the amazing Kate DiCamillo and Alison McGhee. It's also illustrated by Tony Fucile, whose style is perfect for these stories. They are an unlikely looking pair of friends, but their differences are what makes their friendship so interesting. With her crazy yellow hair and her wonderful expressions, Bink is a character you will just love.
The Spring Fair is in town, and Bink and Gollie are going. These three stories are all about what happens there!
Whack a Duck
Ever keen Bink, tries her luck at the game where all you have to do is hot the duck with the ball. In her enthusiasm, Bink manages to hit something 3 times, but it's not the duck!
You're Special, Aren't You?
Funny thing at the start of this story, Bink is wearing a badge saying 'I Lost at Whack a Duck'. In this story Gollie really wants to be in the talent show, but it doesn't quite go to plan.
Without Question
At the start of this story Gollie wears a ribbon ' I Participated In The Talent Show'. Fortune Telling is on the cards this time. Fortune teller, Madame Prunely, seems to know all about their day at the fair. Amazing ?! And the future she sees for the two friends is just what Bink wanted to hear.
I love this book, it's funny and smart, but still so simple. It's perfect for the transition between picture books and novels because each page is fully illustrated (like a picture book) with one or two sentences in each page.
